McKenna's debut single was created in response to a painting exploding with light and color, depicting the ascension of Eve. She felt driven to explore this work and investigate the website from which it came. The words described the month of May as being a time of awakening and positivity. Resonating with its message, Something About May was written and later recorded at University with her musical peers.
